Small Team
The team to which I was first assigned consisted
of Tony Pearce of Altus, OK; Ryan Stroupe of Iron Station, NC; and myself,
Michael Cole,
from Newark, TX. We were blessed to stay in the home of Pasture Osmar
Ximenes and his wife Diva in Barra Mansa. Pasture Ximenes is seventy years
old and has more energy than most seven year olds! His heart for both God
and people is enormous. Our interpreter was Pasture Ivan Dias. Pasture Dias
was an excellent interpreter. Tony Pearce is a veteran of previous mission
trips. He has a strong heart for the Lord and a gift for speaking and
witnessing. He also plays guitar and sings. This was Ryan Stroupes first
mission trip. He has a great testimony and shares it very well. It was a joy
and a privilege to spend five days on this team. In Barra Mansa we were
kept busy. We participated in nine church services and visited many
homes and businesses. Tony, Ryan and I took turns speaking and Tony played
and sang during services.
Among those whom we visited was a family in which
the man had a long history of demonic oppression. It is said that his
parents were spiritualist and dabbled in Satanism. See:
Oppressed Man
